Excitement, Snow, etc
(I haven’t had a terrifying car accident in the past few weeks)
(Nor have I been diagnosed with another major illness)
(And the Catskills are doing just fine)
But in case you, too, have been feeling like Lili (who happens to be the greatest lady alive, I hope you get to meet her someday), I made you something because today was the first snow of the season and it’s magic out.
Before we get to that, a little bit of (very exciting) news:
There is, after all of this, a new album coming. It is going slower than anything I’ve ever done because I’m not trying to give myself another major illness. And I’m building something new for it because I refuse to keep hearing from the architects of burnout culture masquerading as strategy. It will involve markedly less screens and markedly more stamps. In short, a year-long correspondence experiment. Handwritten postcards, curated boxes, a community of people writing letters about rest, transformation, and what our bodies know.
More details coming soon, but I wanted you to see what it might look like. (If you want to be first to know when it opens/begins comment on this post or message me so I know who you are, you gorgeous you)
But most importantly I want to say: This is how I want to share this album and everything else with you. Slowly, intentionally, with ink and paper and real objects. Through the mail. The way I actually live. So I went outside in the first snow today and wrote you a little letter. Here’s what that looked like:
And here is it in video form, sped up to high heaven so you don’t have to watch all three minutes of me chicken scratching. I used my own instrumental to score it because I have indeed made albums before.

ps: In case you’re on a phone or visually impaired, here’s the alternate text of that letter:

- Catskills -
Hello, darling
(saying hi the best way I know how)
Today is the first snow fall here.
It is magical.
(I know I probably look cold but I’m toasty!)
I’m trying to start something new today.
Something born of rest and restoration.
Something that continues to tie me (and hopefully us!) back to nature together.
I’ll tell you more soon, but for now I just wanted to say:
I LOVE YOU
I am doing well and can’t wait to talk further.
Love,
t

Well, this is interesting. An invitation to join a project related to art and nature and rest and restoration just as my retirement countdown hit sub-150 days. What timing! Sounds great, count me in! (Also, glad to hear you are well.)
Would love to see more of the magic.
I've been awful homesick for New England and the snow.
